  hey everyone, i want to apologize for not rtesponding to a number of messages i recieved over the last month or so.

  i took a break as suggested by someone else to try and sort things out and clear my head.

  my wife has been reading alot on here and kept me updated on all the fun that has been going on!.

  after some considerable thought i have decided that i will no longer post on this forum because i want to return to jehovah.

  A question re the "organization".

  i'm trying to discover when jw's first came up with the idea, belief, or just the term "jehovah's organization".. a quick check of available wt cd's shows that the expression was already being well used in 1950. yet there doesn't seem to be any references to a "jehovah's organization" in much earlier jw publications, although i'm having difficulty going back beyond 1950.. has anyone any info as to how this all started and progressed to present day?.

  i'm keen to know this.

  the organization thing is a major part of jw teachings yet there's no references to such a thing in the scriptures.

  Russell hated organisation, there's a great quote from one of the early wt's saying BEWARE ORGANIZATION!! he was more about the individuals coming together and studying...

  I understand the pull. When it's all you've known , it's safe , easy , routine. Especially if you were properly indoctrinated , the old prearranged phrases pop into mind making it easy to dismiss evidence and reasoning as aposta-lies . And if you've not been personally hurt by the org then there IS an awful lot of good to be seen and experienced there, I feel the orgs gravitational pull every DAY. Add to that the enormous amount of opinion and rhetoric out there, (I only can speak for myself ) I don't know WHAT to believe anymore , ranging from "Jw's are right but flawed, manmade , imperfect , just gotta be positive and overlook the wrongs" to "it's all just pure chance , there is no god" , and a dozen variants in between . . . My point being - if this is true, it's your life dude, hope you're happy whatever happens. But if you find yourself back there in wtland happy as Larry, come back to let us know, could be a good conversation!

  A one sentence reply that could jolt a JW

  my mind was wandering last night, and i though of this as a reply to a jw.. "oh, your the people who believe 8 men in brooklyn, ny are directing the world's only true religion.".

  the sentence is a fact that they can't deny, but clearly shows delusion.

  any other one sentence "stingers"?.

  Problemaddict and yaddayaddayadda, NICELY put. SFPW, im sure your intentions are pure, but as the talk said the other night, it IS right to change our religion if we discover there are unscriptural teachings in it. I can't believe I type these words sometimes cos I once thought and spoke EXACTLY the same as you, but there are just too many about turns and inconsistencies for it to be gods organisation . Any honest appraisal of jwfacts or honest comparison of our own literature over the decades will bring you to that conclusion. I didn't want to end up that way. I haven't CHOSEN to believe this. The FACTS led me here. I don't mean to deride the good the org does, it helps a lot of people in very real ways, but I don't believe their claim to be the only channel god is using to dispense spiritual food. He wouldn't appoint a f&ds then not actually explain who they were, OR allow that Slave to teach wrong things for decades.

  i am pretty annoyed to read/hear them saying that they are the true christian religion because they preach, follow the bible bla..bla..bla... let's list down the things in the bible that they don't follow/do.

  i'm sure they are plenty.. the fruits of the holy spirit, that's for a start.. .

  Yep , it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things , but I wasn't planning on coming out just yet. We'll see if anything comes of it. You never know, if he knows I've got doubts maybe it'll spur him on to do some research himself. . . . . .
